Import Checker checks unused DLLs by directly searching files in current hard disk so that the investigation is valid for previously installed programs. There are some freewares and sharewares that investigate dependent DLL files for a single executable file, but investigating dependent DLL files for all files in hard disk is unique to Import Checker.

Import Checker can also display a list of DLL files that seem to be necessary but do not exist in your hard disk. Also searh result contains version information of files so that you can use Import Checker to collect version information of all files in your hard disk.

Import Checker is a shareware. You need to register to use all the functionalities.

Import Checker has the following features:

• Create a list of DLLs that seem to be unused, then analyze a risk and delete.
• Display a list of DLLs that seem to be necessary and are not found in your hard disk.
• Display a list of DLLs in Windows folder, in system folder, under common files folder and a list of executables in your hard disk.
• Display file properties such as size, date, version, imported functions, exported functions of each DLL and executable.
• Display lists of DLLs which each executable depends on.
• Display lists of executables which refer to certain DLL.
• Collect version information of DLLs and executables.
• Save search results to log files.

Other Info Tab

The following information is shown in Other Info Tab:

• OS Version: Supported operating system and required version of operation system are shown. You can run the program with the operating system and later compatible versions. SubSys means subsystem version, OS means operation system version, and Image means image version.
• Platform: Tell CPU supported by the program.
• Active: Tell if the program is currently loaded to memory or not.
• Other Information
  Tell the other information. What information to be shown depends on the program.

  Column Name	Description
  Code size	Ratio and size of program code in the binary file are displayed. If this value is zero, the program does not contain code and contains only resources. This information is shown in 32 bit/64 bit program.
  Compiler	Compiler information is displayed in case it is recognizable.
  Compiled date	Created date of the program is displayed. By comparing this date and time stamp of the program, you can guess if the time stamp is changed by someone. This information is shown in 32 bit/64 bit program.
  Resource size	Ratio and size of resources in the program, which is such as bitmap or icon, are displayed. This information is shown in 32 bit/64 bit program.
  Release type	Tell if the program includes debug infromation. This shows either Debug or Release. This information is shown in 32 bit/64 bit program.
  Linker version	The version of linker which creates the program. You can use this infroation to guess the compiler.
  Other description	Description is displayed if there is additional information about the program. This information is shown in 16 bit program or self-extract archive file.

Import Tab

In Import Tab, the module names and the function names imported by the file are displayed in tree view. Only modules and functions linked statically are displayed by default. You can display files that may be linked dynamically with yellow icon ( ) by clicking Display dynamic links button.

It may take a while to show dynamic links of huge file.

You can see the properties of the module by clicking the right button of the mouse on module names.

Export Tab

In Export Tab, the module name and the function names exported by the file are displayed. Export module name and file name of the program does not always match.

In case the file is COM server such as OCX, icon of the export module name is shown as .

• The product is shareware. You have to register to use all the functionalities. The price is $18.95. Additional const may be needed for bank transfer. You have to register per computer. If you use this product in five machines, you have to register five licenses. You can use the product for free with restricted functionarity.
• The copyright of the product belongs to SKLAB. You can distribute the product as long as you don't modify the product itself and/or archive file.
• The product is provided AS IS AND WITH ALL FAULTS. The product has been tested and every effort has been made to make it safe and effective. However, removing DLLs in Windows/system folders contains certain inherent risks. The copyright holder of the product disclaims the all warranties and conditions to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. You have to delete DLLs at your own risk considering any damages, including loss of information and loss of business profit.
• Support of the product is only provided by email. Other options such as phone call are not available.

Note: You have to register to delete unused DLLs and load/save the search results.
